In response to this ongoing public health emergency, researchers at Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, US, have created an online dashboard to track the spread of the virus across the globe. The interactive map, which tracks the Wuhan Coronavirus in near real-time, collects suspected and confirmed case data from multiple government sources. These include the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC), China’s National Health Commission, and Chinese website DXY which provides regional case estimates faster than the national level reporting organizations.
The dashboard is intended to provide an understanding of the outbreak situation as it unfolds, with transparent data sources.
